As a Supported Employment practitioner I focus on working with individuals and their employers to support successful working relationships. I have a particular interest in employment retention; that is when people’s jobs may be at risk through an illness or sudden and significant disability experience I provide support for them to return to work. I am also the 2IC at Emerge which means I support both of our managers in their work, this also means that as well as my supported employment role I also get to focus on some of the exciting projects at Emerge including marketing and fundraising.
I have a background in both Transition and Specialist Mental Health Supported Employment, and enjoy using my BA in Psychology and Criminology with honours in a unique and rewarding way. I have also recently completed the Marketing Associations Certificate in Marketing and am looking forward to putting this learning to use for Emerge’s benefit.
Throughout my studies and career I have been focused on wanting to challenge society’s conventions that exclude or isolate people with a particular interest in human rights. I have always wanted a career that allows me to work with people in supporting them towards inclusion and the fulfilment of their goals and consider myself lucky that Emerge gives me this opportunity.
