Emerge’s Transition Programme provides a year of support and individual mentoring for students with experience of disability in their last year of school.
We know from the schools we work with, and the parents who contact us, that there are many young people who could benefit from support through the process of transitioning from school.
Entry into the Ministry of Social Development Transition services is strictly limited to High and Very High Needs ORRS students in their last year of school.
Because of this, Emerge continues to raise funds so we can offer transition services to more young people with experience of disability who are preparing to leave school.

Transition List Serve
The Transition list serve goes out nationally to a group of people who are keen to share ideas thoughts and challenges around transition and to discuss the successes and difficulties they may have come across.
It’s a chance for its members to notify their community regarding upcoming events, and to mention any resources that you may have found particularly useful. It will also provide a forum for guest speakers who have expertise in specific areas, who will be able to answer questions and impart useful knowledge.
If you would like to become a Transition List member, email Keziah Bevan the Transition List Moderator on suse@emergetrust.org.nz
We are really pleased to see the area of Transition developing and moving forward in this way, and we are looking forward to your contribution in the future.
