Danny ensures safety on our roads
A tentative telephone enquiry recently led Danny Brockway to the job of Traffic Controller with AWF Labour. In order to secure this position Danny attended an induction day and interview, followed by training in Site Safety and Traffic Control skills.
The job takes Danny to different areas of Wellington and requires good team-working skills to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. As Danny says, the job carries a high level of responsibility as some drivers can be irresponsible by jumping stop signs and creating potential hazards to drivers coming the other way. This means having to take swift action by communicating via two-way radio to his colleagues to warn of potential dangers.
